Then I said to them, “You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is desolate and its gates burned by fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a reproach.” -Nehemiah 2:17

Volunteer Overview

Volunteers are a vital component in the success of The Men of Nehemiah. The Men of Nehemiah (TMON) believes that creating an effective system for volunteer engagement and involvement is directly connected to its goals of leveraging tight resources, maximizing community involvement and advancing organizational growth and development.

The goals of TMON’s Volunteer Program are to maximize volunteer participation; manage diverse community interests and resources; facilitate productive relations among staff, volunteers, and clients; and to ensure that voluntary service connects with the TMON’s strategic goals.

Because of their tremendous passion for the TMON mission, our volunteers are invaluable in helping to deliver TMON services. Our hope is to recruit and engage individuals who are filled with the Love of Christ and who are sensitive to the unique needs and characteristics of our diverse client population.

TMON volunteers receive training as part of their service with us. All volunteers must complete an orientation, on-the-job or program training, and participate in continuing education or training classes as necessary.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Discipleship Class Leaders – Help to impact the lives of men with the gospel of Jesus Christ by volunteering to teach a bible class for one hour per week.

Mentors – Profoundly influence a man’s life by establishing a one-on-one spiritual relationship with a TMON disciple that provides general support, guidance and encouragement.

Food Servers – Help us to adequately minister to our Homeless Community by serving meals or distributing toiletries, clothes and other necessities for one hour during our Sunday Breakfast Fellowship. Individual and group volunteer opportunities are available.
