Then I said to them, “You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is desolate and its gates burned by fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a reproach.” -Nehemiah 2:17

Bread of Hope Outreach Ministry

The Bread of Hope (BOH) is an outreach ministry of The Men of Nehemiah developed and designed to serve our homeless community. BOH has two distinct components, an early Sunday morning worship service and a fellowship period with a delicious hot breakfast.

During the BOH worship service the gospel of Jesus Christ is shared to impact the lives of homeless individuals who are in attendance. Because of the move of God’s Spirit, the BOH worship service has evolved into a greatly diverse congregation. Just as history records that Christianity started as a very explosive, diverse movement which experienced regional, social and economic diversity, likewise the BOH embraces and promotes unity of the many different classes of people God is bringing together through this ministry.

The BOH breakfast fellowship allows an opportunity for individuals who are interested in serving our homeless community to minister and communicate with them intimately. In addition to serving meals and giving out clothes and toiletries, volunteers are encouraged to sit with and get to know our homeless attendants on a more personal level.

The BOH serves 1100 meals per month and ministers to hundreds of individuals during the weekly worship services.
